The surface is made of an antibacterial fabric coating and its rubber base provides good grip . The Egg has a thermal -insulating surface limiting temperature transfer between the table and the hand, making hand movements and mouse use more pleasant and comfortable . Indeed, the work surface can sometimes have a lower temperature than the body. Without the Egg mat and its insulation, this temperature is transferred to the hand, sometimes causing discomfort. The antibacterial fabric coating both keeps the surface clean and makes the mouse glide more smoothly, thus preventing wear and tear on the desk. Its 2mm thickness keeps the hand parallel to the desk without creating differences in level and wrist extensions, a major cause of the development of Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) .
