Serving its user
The mWave is a curved keyboard made up of two non-separated modules, each dedicated to one hand. The keys are oriented to fit in line with the hand and in line with the forearms to prevent ulnar deviation. The modules have a pronation angle and are tilted at 20°, subconsciously placing the hand in a position where any compression of the carpal tunnel is impossible. The mWave features Gateron Low Profile mechanical keys with a 55g pressure force, making them sensitive and effortless to operate. Backlit keys allow the user to work in low-light environments. Palm rests are also included. Thanks to the wedges placed under the keyboard, a negative slope can be created, generating a more ergonomic typing experience. The mWave was designed without a numeric keypad on either the right or left, but integrated into it, to be as compact as possible and thus bring the mouse closer to the keyboard. The goal is to reduce the distance between the mouse and the keyboard by limiting the extent of back-and-forth hand movements, which can cause shoulder strain. The keyboard can be used either wired or wirelessly via Bluetooth, allowing it to connect to multiple devices with a simple gesture. Fully configurable thanks to Kinesis' Clique software, the user can configure it via a web browser while saving their preferences directly to the keyboard's memory. This feature allows users to retrieve all their preferred settings each time they use it. Actions, mouse clicks, and a set of keys can be configured in advance to boost productivity and make typing faster, more customizable, and more fluid.
Modular and technologically advanced
- Curved modules with pronation angle: The keyboard is a single piece, but is composed of two slightly curved modules with a pronation angle to prevent carpal tunnel compression.
- Programmable and customizable: Thanks to Kinesis' Clique software, the keyboard can be remapped to offer a set of shortcuts or actions depending on the task being performed. The settings are saved on the keyboard itself.
- Backlit keys: For visual and typing comfort in low-light environments.
- Compact: The keyboard does not have a proper numeric keypad but has a keypad integrated within the keys and in that way it limits hands’ action range to a small area.
- Connectivity: It can be used in a wired version via USB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth, allowing connection to any device with this technology.
- Key markers: Some keys are a different color to be identifiable without shifting the gaze, thus making them easier to locate while typing.
- Negative Tilt: Thanks to the keyboard's retractable wedges, the keyboard can be tilted downwards if needed for greater typing comfort.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: A wide range of keys are available, making quick, everyday operations easier to perform with a simple movement.
