The first ergonomic gaming keyboard that fits user's morphology

The Edge is composed in 2 modules, the user freely places its hands in front of the modules having in that way a perfect alignment between hands, wrist and forehands avoiding wrist extensions and twisting. This position provides better seating posture preventing unnecessary muscle tensions during keyboard use and optimises hands’ movement. In this way, hand muscles activity are kept to the  minimum and actioned when needed which prevent any risk for developing Repetive Strain Injuries (RSI) and increases comfort during use. The separation between the 2 modules is large, with a maximum space between the 2 modules of 50.8cm. This space can be used either by placing a joystick or any other gaming accessories that fit with user’s game or by bringing the mouse closer to the body while playing. In a “standard” gaming set up the user usually uses not more than 8 keys for FPS action games (action keys W, A, S, D, C, T, Space and Shift). By bringing the mouse closer to the body this helps to increase productivity, responsiveness and comfort. With the Edge this can be achieved as the keyboard’s modules can be splitted and only one module can be used while gaming along with the mouse next to it. The Edge is fully programmable for key remapping and macros set up to increase productivity and gaming experience via the build in software and Kinesis program (Smartset App for Windows and Mac). An RGB lighting is also available for visual identification of the keys and 11 pre-set customisable light effects are proposed in order to fit user’s preferences. The Edge is a plug and play wired USB keyboard, with Cherry switches, compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, & Chrome. Tilt kit is also available giving the possibility to adjust pronation angles at three different levels: Low, Medium and High which are equivalent of 5°, 10° and 15° angles, providing palm support for maximum comfort.

Mechanical Key Switches

The Freestyle Edge RGB+ (KB975-TAC) is equipped with low-force Gateron v1 Brown tactile switches. “Tactile” means there’s a subtle increase in resistance around the middle of the key press, giving you a clear cue that the key is about to register. Many ergonomists prefer this kind of feedback because it helps your fingers anticipate activation and may reduce how often you hit the key all the way down with a hard “bottom-out” impact.

The Freestyle Edge RGB+ (KB975-LIN) uses low-force Gateron v1 Red linear switches. Unlike tactile switches, linear switches provide a smooth, consistent feel from the top of the press to the bottom, with no noticeable bump along the way.

Hotswap

Unlike most mechanical keyboards, the Edge features plug-and-play, hot-swappable switches. If you want to try a different switch brand or type, simply use the included tool to carefully remove the keycaps and switches, insert the replacements, and reinstall the keycaps. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style switches.
